Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria has alleged that some gunmen have killed 13 cows belonging to its members in Plateau state.
The association said the gunmen opened fire on the cattles, killing 13 of them and injuring 12 others.
The incident occured last Sunday along Gero road, Jos South local government area.
The Plateau state chairman of Miyetti Allah, Ibrahim Babayo Yusuf who confirmed this to journalists, said the matter was reported to operatives of sector 6 of Operation Enduring Peace.
The Chairman enjoined their members to remain calm and not to take law in to their hands, as the perpetrators were desperate at provoking them into serious confrontation.
In the meantime, the Community where the incident occured has clarified that they do not know the attackers.
Spokesperson for the Community, Iliya Solomon however, described the spot of the incident as notorious for criminal activities.
